The Activities of ADRP-SA
Professional Body
ADRP-SA is committed to obtaining accreditation with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as a recognized Professional Body. This accreditation will enable ADRP-SA to develop and implement professional designations for specific areas of mediation practice, ensuring quality and consistency in the field.
Mediation Standards
ADRP-SA has a mandate to set professional standards for mediation in South Africa. These include standards for mediator accreditation, for mediator training courses, for mediation service providers, as well as Codes of Conduct and Practice Supervision Standards. ADRP-SA is continuing the work started by DiSAC and NABFAM.
Advocacy and Awareness
ADRP-SA is actively advocating for the growth and advancement of the mediation field in South Africa. The organization is committed to promoting public awareness and understanding of mediation as an effective and respected method for resolving disputes. We promote the professionalization of mediation and regularly publish and speak at conferences.
Industry Voice
ADRP-SA coordinates interaction with Member Organizations on matters of common interest, and ensures their involvement in the development of standards and policies. We also coordination and facilitate alignment within the mediation industry on regional projects, such as the Gauteng High Court Mediation Directive.

Our Objectives
The Objectives of ADRP-SA include:

To promote the quality and standards of dispute resolution practice in South Africa, and to recognize education and or training which qualifies persons for professional registration.

To perform all such functions as a professional body is required to do under the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Act (Act 67 of 2008), such as to designate certain professions, assure the quality of practitioners, to register assessors and trainers, to register continued professional development programmes, and to certify learners in the field of dispute resolution practice.

To register as a professional body with the South Africa Qualifications Authority in terms of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Act (Act 67 of 2008).

To communicate and engage with stakeholders and interested parties, on matters of public or professional importance to mediators and the mediatiom industry.

To promote professional development in dispute resolution practice, including promoting programmes to address historic imbalances in the profession, and improve access to dispute resolution practice.

To actively consider and encourage transformation and social development throughout the Industry, by developing and participating in transformative projects and initiatives.

To promote the mediation industry’s development, growth, public standing, and the general society's confidence therein.

To support and promote research and education relating to dispute resolution practices.
